MATPOWER Mailing Lists

There are three MATPOWER e-mail lists available to serve the MATPOWER community:

  • MATPOWER-ANNOUNCE-L is a simple announcement list for those who wish to be notified of the release of new versions of MATPOWER.

  • MATPOWER-L is for MATPOWER users, to facilitate discussion and provide a forum for help with MATPOWER related questions.

  • MATPOWER-DEV-L is for MATPOWER developers, to provide a forum for discussion related to the development of the MATPOWER software or proposed contributions.

Please select the most appropriate list for your post and do not cross-post to both MATPOWER-L and MATPOWER-DEV-L. Bug reports, software patches, proposed enhancements, etc. should be submitted to the issue tracker on GitHub.

Discussion Mailing List: MATPOWER-L

The purpose of the MATPOWER-L@cornell.edu list is to facilitate discussion of MATPOWER. Feel free to use this list to discuss anything related to MATPOWER, or to ask and answer questions related to the use of MATPOWER.

Now that MATPOWER is on GitHub, the issue tracker should be used for things such as reports, software patches, proposed enhancements, etc. If you have any of your own MATLAB power systems code that you would like to contribute, the developer list is the most appropriate place to discuss that.

Guidelines for posting

If you are going to ask a question on this list, please be sure to give enough information that someone has a chance of giving a helpful response. Be sure to start with ...

  • a clear and complete description of what you are trying to accomplish

... and if you have attempted a solution unsuccessfully ...

  • a clear and complete description of what you have already attempted (including a code snippet if possible so we have details)
  • a clear and complete description of the result you expected vs. the result you got (if you got an error, include the full error message)

If MATPOWER itself is not working as you think it should, include ...

  • output of mpver on your system
  • operating system version

Including this kind of information in your request will make this forum more useful to everyone by avoiding the added noise of multiple e-mails back and forth in an attempt to understand the question.
