- Version 3.0 - current development version (special authorization required)
-
- Version 2.7 (Wed, Sep 12, 2001)
- Added timed periods. See the version history for more detailed change information.
- Version 2.6 (Tue, Feb 20, 2001)
- Moved to a new IBM Netfinity 5100 server (stealth.ee.cornell.edu). See the version history for more detailed change information.
- Version 2.5 (Tue, Feb 6, 2001)
- Adds new market types (seen only be those with admin privileges). Some more bug fixes. See the version history for more detailed change information.
- Version 2.4 (Fri, Dec 3, 1999)
- Adds a two stage market, similar to PJMs proposed market. Only available to PowerWeb administrators at the moment. Some bug fixes (and additions, most likely). See the version history for more detailed change information.
- Version 2.3 (Mon, Sep 20, 1999)
- Much improved computational server. See the version history for more detailed change information.
- Version 2.2 (Wed, Jun 30, 1999)
- Added individual exchange rates. Upgraded from Matlab 4.2 to Matlab 5.3 for computational server. See the version history for more detailed change information.
- Version 2.1 (Thu, Dec 24, 1998)
- Added reserve generation, multiple dispatch periods per trading period, and startup/shutdown costs. See the version history for more detailed change information.
- Version 2.0 (Tue, Oct 6, 1998)
- Complete re-write. All data handled by a mySQL relational database engine. Allows user's to create and manage their own sessions. Includes several simple computer bidding agents, so a single user can play against a group of agents. The OPF used by the computational server is based on MATPOWER 2.0.
- Version 1.4 * (Wed, Jun 4, 1997)
- New OPF which is based on piece-wise linear cost functions. Fitting curves to the offer blocks is no longer necessary. The name used for the market with this new OPF is EMPIRE1 as opposed to EMPIRE0 which used the curve fitting. Tue, Jun 17, 1997 added EMPIRE2 which is functionally equivalent to EMPIRE1 but uses an LP-based OPF and runs faster. See the version history for more detailed change information. Note: Moved to a Sun Ultra 2 server as of Mon, Jul 14, 1997.
- Version 1.3 * (Mon, Apr 14, 1997)
- This version used for the Apr 14, 1997 PSERC experiment. See the version history for more detailed change information.
- Version 1.2 * (Fri, Mar 7, 1997)
- Includes a fixed load case for a 6 generator, 30 bus system. Offer applet now shows continuous offers correctly and displays total as well as marginal offers. Java version of one-line diagram has more functionality. See the version history for more detailed information.
- Version 1.1a2 * (Mon, Feb 3, 1997)
- This version was demonstrated at the 1997 IEEE/PES Winter Meeting in New York, NY. Requires user registration. Includes a database engine, Java version of system map, and JavaScript error checking on generator offers. See the version history for more detailed information.
- Version 1.1a1 * (Mon, Dec 16, 1996)
- Many changes. Revamped the login process to allow for a selection of power system models and market institutions. Requires Java for viewing cost curves. Restructured the pages displaying market info. See the version history for more detailed information.
- Version 1.1d1 * (Thu, Nov 14, 1996)
- Never released publicly. This is the first development version of 1.1 which includes the ability to accept blocks of power as offers from the generators. It also has been restructured to give the option of a fixed load or 8 load periods. This version was used to run a preliminary experiment with the EMPIRE group on Thu, Nov 14, 1996.
- Version 1.0a2 * (Wed, Oct 30, 1996)
- This version uses a "real" OPF to compute the dispatch and prices. It also uses separate offer parameters for each of the eight 3-hour periods and removes the start-up price from the offer. See the version history for more detailed information.
- Version 1.0a1 * (Tue, Sep 17, 1996)
- This is the first alpha version of PowerWeb 1.0. Version 1.0 has been redesigned to add a load profile for a 24-hour period, divided into eight 3-hour segments. The ISO computes the dispatch for these eight periods based on linear marginal prices offered by the generators. The ISO also determines the loss-adjusted prices payed to the generators for each period. See the version history for more detailed information.
- Version 1.0d2 (August 1996)
- This is the first demo version of PowerWeb 1.0 as seen at the 1996 IEEE/PES Summer Meeting in Denver, CO. It is only a demo and is not connected to a simulation engine. See the version history for more detailed information.
- Version 0.5d1 (March 1996)
- This is the first development version of PowerWeb, hacked together in a few weeks after some initial discussions in December 1995. It was used to play a trial "game" with researchers from Cornell, Illinois, and Wisconsin in March 1996. Please note that this version is rather hard on our network, so please don't use it more than necessary. See the version history for more detailed information.
